Hypatius, LLC today announced the appointment of Stanley O. Kennedy, Jr. as Chief Executive Officer. Founder James A. LeMieux, who makes the appointment, transitions to Chief Technology Officer and continues to lead platform engineering.

Kennedy takes the role as Hypatius scales STARCHITECT, its space-domain wargaming and command-and-control simulation platform, and expands engagement with government and prime-contractor customers.

Kennedy co-founded Oakman Aerospace, Inc. in 2012 and served as President and Chief Systems Engineer, building the Littleton, Colorado firm into a recognized digital engineering and modular open-architecture spacecraft developer before its acquisition by Redwire in 2021. Across more than 40 years in aerospace, he has held technical and executive roles spanning launch vehicles, upper stages, spacecraft, and ground systems at Comtech AeroAstro, General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, and Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company, serving government and commercial customers domestically and internationally.

He currently works with the Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation in Michigan to develop the Homestead Mission Operations Center, a facility providing high-fidelity digital engineering and digital twin modeling and simulation of complete space systems, along with training and certification programs for mission engineers and mission controllers.

Kennedy has served on the U.S. Department of Commerce Industry Trade Advisory Committee on Aerospace (ITAC-1), advising the Secretary of Commerce and the U.S. Trade Representative on aerospace trade matters. He is an Associate Fellow and Lifetime Member of AIAA, served through 2026 as Technical Chairman of the AIAA/SmallSat Frank J. Redd Student Competition, and sits on the Technical Committee of the Small Satellite Systems & Services (4S) Symposium, co-sponsored by ESA and CNES. He is a past Chairman of the Board of the Space Force Cadet Corps. He holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona and an M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of Colorado Boulder.

“Stanley has built and sold a digital engineering company, sat on the trade advisory side of this industry, and spent forty years putting hardware and software into orbit. That combination is exactly what Hypatius needs as STARCHITECT moves from validated capability to fielded capability.”

James A. LeMieux · Founder and Chief Technology Officer

“Hypatius is solving a problem I have watched programs struggle with my entire career — deciding how a space architecture behaves under contested conditions before anyone commits budget to it. My focus is getting STARCHITECT in front of the operators and program offices who need it, and building the teaming relationships that put it on contract.”
